Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour: travel equipment becomes the starting point.

A factory touring specification combines radar assistance, electronic suspension and luggage around the existing V4 S platform.

Meet the motorcycle

The Grand Tour is primarily a comprehensively equipped touring edition. It should be understood as a specific configuration of the Multistrada V4 S, rather than a newly invented engine. The attraction is the way comfort, visibility and load-carrying provisions are supplied together, with a road-biased adventure-touring purpose.

Ducati announced this new Grand Tour on 1 October 2026 and stated European dealership availability from November. The launch is within 2026; no unsupported global model-year label is inferred. The official media kit identifies this as MY27; the announcement date remains 1 October 2026.

UNDER THE SURFACE

The changes, explained.

01

A complete radar package as part of the specification

The change

The announced specification includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection and Forward Collision Warning, rather than requiring the rider to infer them from the Grand Tour name.

How it works

Front and rear radar support different tasks: monitoring a gap ahead or detecting vehicles approaching a blind area behind. Their outputs assist the rider; a visual warning does not itself steer or execute an emergency stop.

What it means on a ride

On long transfer days, reducing repeated throttle corrections and adding useful warnings can ease workload. Lane changes and braking still require direct observation.

The consideration · Availability and behaviour can be market-specific. Assistance is bounded by sensor and traffic conditions.

02

Electronic damping responds to more than road bumps

The change

DSS EVO works with vehicle-attitude information, while the V4 platform’s Vehicle Observer supports electronic-control strategies.

How it works

A controller estimates what the motorcycle is doing and changes damping resistance. Controlling rebound and compression can help keep chassis movement predictable as braking, acceleration and road inputs combine.

What it means on a ride

This matters when a solo weekday setup becomes a fully loaded two-up trip. Consistent attitude can be as useful as outright softness.

The consideration · Electronic damping cannot remove payload limits or the need for suitable suspension preload.

03

Tyre information and lighting form a travel package

The change

The edition includes tyre-pressure monitoring and additional lighting. Some lighting items depend on local homologation.

How it works

Pressure sensors provide a measured value or alert; they do not measure remaining tyre grip. Auxiliary lights and cornering illumination influence where light falls rather than increasing adhesion.

What it means on a ride

Pressure awareness is useful when luggage or temperature changes. Better-directed lighting can make road-edge details easier to recognise after dark.

The consideration · Sensors need maintenance and warnings need checking. Additional lights must comply with the rules of the country where the motorcycle is used.

04

Factory touring equipment changes the ownership calculation

The change

The Grand Tour brings a coordinated luggage and comfort specification with a dedicated finish. It is an equipment-led edition, not a claim that the engine gained power.

How it works

Carriers transmit luggage loads into designated mounting points. Keeping weight within rated loads and close to the vehicle centre matters more than simply filling every available litre.

What it means on a ride

A matched factory package can simplify preparing a road tour and reduce the need to select multiple separate accessories.

The consideration · Luggage adds width and weight. A comprehensive package is not automatically the best value for a rider who prefers a light setup.

Where it fits

The Grand Tour’s case is strongest for riders who want an equipped road-travel motorcycle from the outset. Riders prioritising technical off-road sections should compare wheel choice, weight and luggage width with more off-road-focused alternatives.
