Meet the motorcycle

Mana Black is best understood as a factory-accessorised Himalayan, not a new 750 cc motorcycle or a new engine generation. Its dark finish accompanies specific equipment aimed at movement and rough-ground use. The distinction matters: useful changes may be in ergonomics and puncture handling rather than an increased power claim. None of the observations here is presented as a ridden endurance test.

Unveiled at EICMA 2025 and included in the brand’s 2026 UK model programme; the Himalayan 450 platform is older.

UNDER THE SURFACE

The changes, explained.

01

Tubeless spoked wheels

The change

The factory package includes tubeless spoked wheels rather than assuming every Himalayan uses the same wheel arrangement.

How it works

A sealed rim retains air without an inner tube. A small tread puncture can sometimes be repaired externally, depending on tyre damage and the manufacturer’s repair rules.

What it means on a ride

The practical gain is a different puncture-repair routine on a trip, alongside the flexibility associated with a spoked construction.

The consideration · A bent rim, sidewall cut or bead damage may still require major repair. Tubeless does not mean puncture-proof.

02

Rally seat and rider movement

The change

Mana Black includes a black rally seat as part of the curated accessory package.

How it works

Seat profile and surface affect how easily a rider moves forward, rearward and into a standing position. An unbroken shape can reduce interference during repeated transitions.

What it means on a ride

The aim is greater freedom to place body weight for changing terrain, rather than a claim that one seat is comfortable for every distance.

The consideration · Rally ergonomics can alter seat reach and passenger suitability. Check the actual local seat arrangement before choosing it for two-up travel.

03

Handguards and rally mudguard

The change

Black rally handguards and a rally mudguard accompany the special finish.

How it works

A guard intercepts some debris and contact before it reaches controls; mudguard placement changes tyre clearance and the path of thrown water and dirt.

What it means on a ride

These details change preparation for loose-surface travel and the amount of separate accessory fitting needed.

The consideration · They do not guarantee lever survival or unlimited mud clearance. Accessories can also change wind, vibration and cleaning needs.

04

The Sherpa engine is retained

The change

The 452 cc liquid-cooled single remains the underlying power unit; no Mana-specific increase in output is announced.

How it works

Electronic throttle maps change the relation between grip position and requested torque. They do not add displacement or automatically produce more power.

What it means on a ride

For a loaded trip the useful assessment is control at low speed, useful gearing and how the engine responds at the intended altitude.

The consideration · Published outputs are manufacturer figures. Actual range and comfort need conditions and testing, not extrapolation from a colour name.

Where it fits

Choose Mana Black if its factory package matches the kind of riding you plan. Compare the included seat, wheel construction and guards with a standard Himalayan, and budget for tyres and trip preparation rather than assuming an engine upgrade that is not claimed.
