The road & its landscape
The southern Sierra Nevada is read through white villages, terraced hillsides and increasingly deep valleys.
Planning corridor: Lanjarón → Órgiva → Pampaneira → Capileira.
Why ride here
The southern Sierra Nevada is read through white villages, terraced hillsides and increasingly deep valleys.
Scenery along the road
The southern Sierra Nevada approach moves from the cultivated foothills around Lanjarón and Órgiva to the white villages above the Poqueira valley. Pampaneira offers a close village foreground; Capileira places the deeper valley and mountain slopes below the road. Park tracks beyond the villages are not assumed to be rideable.
Lanjarón and Órgiva
Lower foothill roads establish the warmer, cultivated side of the mountains.
Pampaneira
White houses gather above the valley; park outside the village to explore the narrow streets.
Capileira
Higher village roads open towards the Poqueira valley; park tracks beyond are not assumed motorcycle roads.
Roads from above
Look at the bends, road surface and landscape beside the carriageway. Each caption identifies the location; other roads in the range are marked separately.
Other roads in this range
Some photographs show other roads, visitor access or historical alignments in this mountain region. Their captions identify the difference from this chapter’s main corridor; vehicle access is not inferred from the image.

Sources & provenance
Summarised from public sources. A historic tourism plan describes a corridor, not current road access. Track authors retain ownership of their files.
